This doctoral thesis by Father Dr. Joseph Iannuzzi OSJ on the theology in the writings of Luisa Piccarreta helps to understand in a systematic way the key points of the gift of life in the divine will. Evidence is provided as to how it is compatible with 2,000 years of church teaching through a study of the early ecumenical councils and patristic, scholastic and contemporary theology.
Father Joseph Leo Iannuzzi, Ph.B., STB, M. Div., STL, STD
The dissertation was approved by the Pontifical University of Rome in 2012, approved by the Holy See in 2013 and received by over 500 Catholic bishops. It ensures solid teaching for Christian believers, and allows for greater appreciation of the theology contained in Luisa's writings. This dissertation is a systematic theological presentation of the gift of life in the divine will within the framework of church tradition and teaching. The first chapter examines the life of the servant of God; Chapters 2-4 reveal from Luisa's text the gift of life in the divine will; Chapters 5-7 offer an objective examination of the deposit of faith and compare its unchanging truth with Luisa's text - the former chapters of this part are devoted to examining the teaching of the early ecumenical councils and patristic theology; the final chapters are devoted to a study of the teachings of scholasticism and contemporary theology.
The translation follows the dogmatic expression of the theology of the approved dissertation. The excerpts from Luisa's writings were translated from Italian, with the translation into German following the theological language of the Church.
